Using Liite.fi to shorten the link to the Google Toolbar translation for the site, you get this:

http://liite.fi/c5Fv921zj - 25 characters

Using SnipURL, you get:
http://snipurl.com/9di8b - 24 characters

And with the SnipURL trick, you get:
http://snurl.com/9di8b - 22 characters

But I just started using TweetDeck (for organizing Twitter tweets) and TweetDeck uses bit.ly for shortening links.

Using bit.ly, you get:
http://bit.ly/E5sZ - 18 characters

With 4 less characters than SnipURL, bit.ly is now the king of link shorteners:

Note: "bit.ly" is a Libyan domain website registered in New York, NY, US.

bit.ly also has some other nifty app tools including a Twitter search which shows traffic data:

bit.ly even has a browser bookmarklet (as SnipURL does) so you can easily use it from your internet browser's "Links" toolbar, even when you're not using TweetDeck.

Note: If you have a problem dragging the bookmarklet to your browser's toolbar, you can just Add it as a Favorite:
- Using Internet Explorer: Click Favorites > Add to Favorites
and in the "Create in:" drop-down box, choose: "Links".
Name the Link and click Add.
